Hokie Stone - Standing Together
I usually don't directly show the human influence in my photographs, but in this picture of a wall of Hokie Stone on the Virginia Tech campus, how could I not? You see, I know from firsthand experience that it isn't just the beautiful surroundings that make the students, staff, and Blacksburg residents love this place - it is the beauty of the way they support each other, the way they teach each other, the way they push each other to excellence. The strength we have because we are bound together is why we not only survive tragedy, but also meet the world outside our beloved Blacksburg smiling and ready for anything. We know that we are part of something stronger than ourselves, we are "Virginia Tech for life. "
